About AptHaven
Hi! We’re the small editorial team behind AptHaven, an independent home guide for people who want everyday spaces to feel easier to live in—not perfectly styled.
AptHaven began with a familiar problem: household products often look convincing online but make less sense once they meet a narrow cabinet, a shared bathroom, a rental agreement, or a busy weekly routine. We wanted a place that started with those real-life constraints and helped readers think through a purchase before adding one more thing to the house.
Our goal is to make choosing home essentials calmer, clearer, and more practical. We write for renters, first apartments, shared households, growing families, and anyone trying to make better use of the space they already have. Across our guides, we focus on fit, upkeep, storage, replacement costs, and the tradeoffs that still matter after the excitement of buying has worn off.
How we create our guides
We begin with an ordinary household situation—an overflowing under-sink cabinet, laundry supplies without a sensible home, or a cleaning tool that is too awkward to use regularly. We then review published manufacturer specifications and retailer information, compare practical features, and turn that research into straightforward buying questions.
We do not describe desk research as hands-on testing. If we directly test a product, the article will clearly explain what was tested, how it was used, and when the evaluation took place. Otherwise, our recommendations are based on published information and scenario-based editorial judgment.
How AptHaven is supported
AptHaven is preparing to participate in affiliate programs. If you follow an eligible retailer link and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not purchase a favorable opinion or change the tradeoffs we report. You can read the full details in our Affiliate Disclosure.
